Chopsticks Training

After we stopped our Shichida lessons, Mummy has forgotten to let Kaelyn practice using the chopsticks. During mealtime, we would prepare her food in bite size so she is only required to use the spoon.  Today we let her try using the chopsticks again.  Kaelyn didn't hold them correctly but she managed to pick up the cut fruits with the chopsticks and of course eat up all the cut fruits with the chopsticks.  Good job Kaelyn!!

Chinese Treatment

Today we made a last minute decision to bring Kaelyn to Yuguo for her Chinese Treatment.  She was coughing recently and the last bit of cough seems quite stubborn.  Mummy was glad to make the trip.  After examining her, the doctor told the assistant to quickly massage her.
She said "快点帮她按摩和刮痧,这个孩子快要发烧了"

After the treatment, she had to take some Chinese medicine for about a week.  Mummy is always amazed whenever she took the Chinese medicine.  The medicine is like sweets to her.  Kaelyn always say it is yummy.  Mummy licked some leftover from the spoon... oh my goodness... it is really the typical Chinese medicine...soooo... bitter.  I wonder why she thinks its nice!!

Those rectangle paper are wrapped with powder.  The powder is to be mixed with the tall bottle.  Everyday she has to take thrice of this mixture.  The short bottle is to be taken twice so there will be 1 feed without the short bottle.  Kaelyn would ask "Why I don't need to drink this? I like..."

Poor Appetite

In recent weeks, Kaelyn has not been eating well.  Teachers also feedback that she is taking her own sweet time during meal time.  One mouth of food can "sit" in her mouth for a long time without any action.  As Teacher has to feed a few children at the same time, they can't be watchful on Kaelyn alone.

Mummy also experienced lots of frustration when feeding her. She is chewing really slowly, stop a long time and chew again.  Sometimes she chewed too long and the food becomes dried up making it difficult to swallow so she has to spit it out.  Most of the time she couldn't finish her meal....Urgh...She will give excuses like she's full already or tummy ache to avoid finishing her meal.

After doing some research, Mummy bought a bottle of Solaray BabyLife Probiotics from GNC.  This white fine powdery probiotics has over 4 billion of living probiotics per gram.  Everyday she only require 1 tiny scope (the cute little scope is provided) of powder to be mixed with any drink/food.  It is odourless and tasteless.  After only about 3-4 days later, I'm not sure if its due to the probiotics but her appetite has really improved!! She didn't really eat a lot more but she sure eat much much faster than before and she manage to finish her food most of the time.

This bottle cost about $48 and it needs to be keep refridgerated.  I'm so glad to have this product!!

Goodbye! Teacher Shi Ni

Teacher left an envelope in Kaelyn's school bag on 31 Aug.  Mummy only chanced upon it on 2 Sep.  Enclosed are 2 photographs and a type-written letter.  31 Aug is Teacher Shini's last day of service with My First Skool.  She is Kaelyn's English teacher and Kaelyn like her very very much.

After reading the letter, I was quite worried as to how to break the news to Kaelyn.  I'm not sure how she'll react after knowing that her favourite teacher will no longer be teaching her.  I reckon it will be best to let her find out on her own.  So far, a week has past and she is taking it well.  I'm not sure if she know about her departure.  The other English teacher, Teacher Lina, had to shortern her maternity leave to take over the class.

Changes like this are inevitable.  However children tend to rely on teachers to give them the security whilst their parents are not with them.  Hopefully this phase will pass by soon.

I'd like to thank Teacher Shi Ni for her love and care for Kaelyn.
Best wishes and all the very best for your studies!

Kaelyn took 3 times on the Dino-Soarin (extreme right)...The most enjoyable ride for her..

The offerings at the gift stores are great and prices are pretty reasonable too..
