Kids-in-Charge 2010

All the students attending classes at My First Skool centres are invited to the Kids-In-Charge event.  This year, we are invited to the Woodlands Stadium.  Concurrently, the KIC is also held at other stadiums for My First Skool at different zones.  It's like a sports day for the preschoolers..

Last  year we didn't attend so this year, Teacher tried to persuade us to go.  Finally, we say yes but we were late... very very late.  All the games/activities were already over by the time we reach the stadium.  Haha... In fact the program was already at its closing when we arrived.

Anyway, it was nice of the committee to issue each student a medal despite not taking part in any event at all.  Kaelyn is so proud after receiving the medal..

The event end off with the YOG song..

Royal Princesses

The girls are going for a makeover... but kids had to hang on till all the mummies have gathered enough receipts at Parkway Parade.  大姨 has to buy $240 worth of products at Parkway Parade so that all her 3 princesses get to do their makeover for free.  Luckily we have 二姨, 外婆, 小姨 and Darly Uncle to help to buy and accumulate the receipts.  Mummy has plans to buy a external hard disk so a single item would already exceeded $80..  The adults were seen dashing around to find things to buy as we need to quickly accumulate all the receipts before the booth close.

Station 1 - Manicure - the pretty Jie Jie helped to stick some stickers on their names and a temporary princess tatto on their hands.  The girls get to choose which design they like.

Station 2 - Make up - The princesses have to "paint" their face.  After their make up session, they get to chose their costumes.  The crew will also help them change their costumes.

Station 3 - The girls are now transformed into Princesses.  They get to chose their backdrop for photoshooting.

All the princess had fun and we get a copy of a photo home happily.

Self-Invited and Insistent Guest

Daddy was threatening Kaelyn that if she misbehaves, he'll send her to 姑姑's house.  姑姑 will train her to be a good girl.  Instead of getting her feel frighten, the plan misfired..Kaelyn wanted to go to 姑姑's house... she was super enthusastic about it. 姑姑 quickly find some excuses and left Ah Ma's house... thinking that Kaelyn would forget thereafter.  After they left, she talked about it all the way home.  She insisted even though we say that daddy and mummy will not be going...after exhausting all the excuses, we had to give 姑姑 a call ...and here's the conversation.

Trip to Perth (11-17 Jun) Day 5 & 6

We spend the 5th day at Westfield Carousel Shopping Mall.  It has Target, Kmart, Myers, Woolsworth, Coles and many more... Mummy bought a pair of cheap boots at Rubi at only $20.

Having some fun whilst Kaelyn is sleeping....

We had dinner at a Japanese Restaurant... we haven't had noodles since we arrived... slurp slurp.. look at how she enjoyed the noodles

Mummy started the last day at Perth at 2 am... Kaelyn has taken ill.  She's running a fever of 39.2 deg.  Luckily we have prepared some basic medication with us.  We have plans to go back to Swan Valley again as we've only managed to check out Caversham Farm earlier.  However, looking at Kaelyn, we've changed our minds to avoid going outdoor.  Once again, we are back to Harbour Town Outlet Mall.

By early afternoon, Kaelyn had a total of 3 doses of paracetamol.  She looked lethargic and the fever have not subsided.  We find our way to the information counter who have advised us to seek medical help at the nearest hospital.

The doctor at the Princess Margaret Hospital for Chilren checked Kaelyn carefully and found that her throat is very red.  She's given some anti-biotics.  The total bill is only A$27...so reasonable.

After the visit to the hospital, she finally regained some energy.  So daddy suggested that we should visit the Kings Park which is nearby the hospital.   Kings Park is a botanic garden and Kaelyn was once again, running and laughing ...

The night turns dark at 6 pm so we head back to city before it turns too chilly for Kaelyn. Tonight, we had Korean food for dinner.  Our airport transfer is coming to pick us up at 9.30 pm.

Bye Perth, we're leaving you at 1 am on 17 June.  We'll miss you!  Hope we'll be back soon.

Trip to Perth (11-17 Jun) Day 4

Kaelyn has been asking Mummy to bring her to Perth... We've told her that this is already our 4th day in Perth.  Finally we figure that she wants us to bring her to the farm.  We decided to visit the Caversham Farm which is quite a distance from the city/hotel.  We took quite a while to get to the farm.. it is worth the visit.

Mummy is very surprised that Kaelyn can be so affectionate to animals... this is the first time she came across these animals and she can be so comfortable with them.  Daddy & Mummy are not animal people so when she started to touch or stand near them, both of us broke out in a cold sweat ... hahaha...

Stroking the lambs
Touching a reptile (Mummy feel like watching a scary movie!!) and wombat
Loads of fun feeding the Kangaroo and watching the lazy Koalas

Kaelyn feeding the rabbits

Kaelyn running around and feeding the Kangaroos and joey

Kaelyn volunteered to feed the lamb

Kaelyn successfully milked the cow

Trip to Perth (11-17 Jun) Day 3

Day 3, 13 Jun, we visited another weekend market call Subiaco Weekend Market... This market is even smaller than Fermantle.  Anyway, it is quite interesting to see what they have to offer.  Mummy is very intrigued by the different food and fruits on offer.. is it the way they were displayed that makes them so interesting and tempting?  Amongst other fruits, Fuyu persimmons are in season now ...there are lots of samples for all to try..

We took a train to Rockingham Beach.  Along the way, at each train stop, there's nothing nearby the train station... they were surrounded by bushes and more bushes.... finally we reach our station and found out that we have to take a bus to the beach... Finally here we are...the Rockingham Beach... honestly the beach is no different from our East Coast beach.. the few differences are we can see flocks of big birds flying freely near the beach and nice weather
There's a playground by the sea... how can Kaelyn miss this?
We headed by Perth City for the Bell Tower which is overlooking the famous Swan River

Just right in front of the Bell Tower is a cruise terminal where visitors can hop on cruise ship for a leisure ride to Fermantle and other attractions.  It is so nice to just sit on the grassy field...
