Dinner at Marché

We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice kids corner at Marché @ 313 Somerset.

After much persuasion, Kaelyn finally settled down for dinner.  There's set menu for children as well.  This is Spanish Seafood rice with a fresh apple juice.

Singing again...

Kaelyn learnt this song from the 9 pm show...

Meet Parent Session

Kaelyn's school has come up with a 24-page booklet to show the child's progress at school.  There are 3 competency levels - (1) Not Yet    (2) Sometimes    (3) Often.

She has obtained mostly "Sometimes" in the observation booklet.  Only 1 item that Kaelyn has obtained "Not Yet" ie. I can bounce a ball in place and catch it with both hands.  Daddy only used 15 mins to show her and by the time Mummy came out of the shower room, Kaelyn already mastered the skill.  Good job Daddy!!

The other areas that she excelled in (obtained "Often")  are:
1.  I know how to follow oral instructions
2.  I can reproduce letter sounds
3.  I can recognise my own name
4.  I can write my own name
5.  I can copy & write some letters
6.  I know how to match by size, colour; shape, texture & type
7.  I know the days of the week
8.  I can count from 1-50
9.  I can identify the name shapes (triangle, square, rectangle, and circle)
10.  I show confidence when participating in classroom activities
11.  I can understand and follow classroom procedures
12.  I can jump using 2 legs
13.  I can turn my body in different directions
14.  I can put on and take off my clothes
15.  I can manipulate buttons
16.  I can participate in creative movement, dance & drama
17.  I am able to name, sing and hum 10-15 song titles

Piggy-Back

Other than offers from Daddy & Mummy, Kaelyn would usually say no to those who offer to piggy-back her...When 外公 offered her, she said yes...surprised!!

Magazine Front Cover Contest

Kaelyn and mummy took part in the front cover contest... looking at the pictures, i doubt we'll stand a chance... hahaha... just won ourselves a free (erm.. Feb) magazine, some vouchers and 2 free photo print-out..

Anyway, i felt that they could have done it a more creative way... to let children warm up or let loose, instead of a high chair with a back drop like this..I observed that some children are not comfortable to even give a little smile!!

After the take, we pass by a shop with a small ball pool.. and Kaelyn had a fun time in this shop.. If only the magazine front cover contest have this kinda setup...

Happy Mother's Day

Thank you Kaelyn...

Improvement in Writing

Mmmm.. a sudden improvement in her writing...A sloppy job for letter O but look at letter P..

Puzzle Fun

Kaelyn enjoys playing the puzzle by herself... she proudly show off her crab, aeroplane and house..

New Helper at Home

A new helper at home... she is none other than Kaelyn.  She helped mummy to fold clothes...Kaelyn helped with the easiest ones like the towels and handkerchief.  It may not be the neatest job done but mummy did not mine at all.  Mummy praised her for the good job and keep the towels the way she had folded them.

朗读

We were wondering what was "Zu guo 的娃娃”... after clarifying with teacher, it is suppose to be “祖国的娃娃“... mmm..

Phonics Update

Kaelyn enjoyed the GUG classes very much and always look forward to the next class.  She will tell mummy today she had learnt letter P and next week, Teacher Aze will be teaching her letter Q.  Every week Teacher Aze will emphaise on 1 alphabet but will go through all the 26 alphabets.  She has already mastered all the sounds of A-Z.

When mummy tested her on a few simple 3-alphabet words eg. but, dog, cat, bag, top, bus, lip etc... she will be able to slowly spell out these words.  Here's the conversation:

M:  Kaelyn, how to spell dog
K:  Say again ...
M:  Dog
K:  Say it slowly
M:  D-O-G (really slowly..)

She will be able to slowly spell the word dog.  Amazing!!  Mummy is quite impressed!

So here's the sounds of A to R.  Kaelyn is supposed to end at P but she continued until R... after the take I ask her why she end at R.  She laugh and said "我忘记了..."  hahahah.. funny girl!

Trip to East Coast Beach

It is really great to relax and catch some morning sun.  We had a tiring but great time at the East Coast Beach.

Kaelyn built some sand castle with her newly made friends and then playing kite with Daddy.  Some people came with interesting kites...

This bike has been sitting in the storeroom for a long time... daddy bought this when Kaelyn was still young and finally it has made its way out of the storeroom for the first time.. .hahaha...  Same as other children, Kaelyn started with pedalling the bicycle backwards.  After a few tries, she is finally able to ride the bicycle...  Good job!!
