YOG - Rhythmic Gymnastic

We've bought our YOG tickets as soon as they started their sales.  A bit angry when those who didn't pay for it get to attend the games.  Nevertheless, it was a great competition not to be missed.  It is also another way to inspire Kaelyn into sports, dance & gymnastics.

Post competition effect....

Oops, the 3 of us were caught on TV... hahaha...

Dance Update

At the end of each calendar year, all students would have learnt 10 short dance pieces.   Teacher has been polishing 3 of them and likely these 3 pieces would be tested soon.  Teacher said Kaelyn is doing fine.  She can remember steps very easily but she has little sense of rhythm.  Also she's not easily distracted by other students.

The dance steps seems easy but it is quite a challenge for these children, especially for them to move from current position to form a circle, it takes a few lessons for them to master it.

Audition

Through 小姨's contacts, we managed to get a chance for audition.  This production house has helped many established brands in their TV ads, print collaterals & etc.

The studio

Cavis is a very nice lady...she kept offering drinks and sweets to the children.  The office reception area is like a big chill-out place.

The half an hour experience is a nice one!  Hopefully one of us get selected by their client.

Special Invitation

Mummy has received an usual invitation today.  A PR agency that is servicing a reputable education centre has invited our family for a 2-hr trial lesson.  The school is an upmarket premium school at Orchard.

The agency wanted to connect parent bloggers whom they have identified as those with very credible and real stories to share.

Mummy was really delighted to receive this invitation.  Unfortunately, we are unable to attend due to a clash in timing.

Now that Mummy's colleagues came to know about the blog, they kept pestering mummy to let them have the blog address.  No, no!  Mummy's not going to tell them (LOL).  If they are resoureful enough to find us then I'd say "Welcome my friend.....but don't tell the rest!" Hahaha...

GUG Update & Moving Forward

Kaelyn has almost covered all the alphabets ie. from A-T.  Although she did not complete the rest of the alphabets, every week the routine is to revise all the sounds of A-Z so she already know what are the sounds of the rest of the alphabets.

For the next term, the teacher recommended that she move on to the next level ie. Early Reading & Writing.  So for the new term, she is in her new class with a new teacher.  Mummy observed that although this class is for children from 4-5 years old, she seems to be the only 4 years old child in the class.  This class doesn't allow any parents to sit in so Mummy could only observe through a little crevice in the door.

The work done during class was returned after every lessons.  Seems like too much serious work and technical.  Kaelyn doesn't seems to enjoy her class and she also doesn't like Teacher Komala (oops!!).  So we've decided to stop the class when the term comes to an end.  Perhaps we may continue next year when she is more prepared and mature.

Today, we paid for a Speech & Drama trial lesson at LoveKids.  Kaelyn enjoyed herself very much and the teachers are very very warm and friendly.   Mummy also hope that by attending Speech & Drama class, Kaelyn will be able to build up her confidence, self-esteem, social skills and conversational ability. Hopefully, she'll be more out-spoken really soon in front of people whom she is not familiar with.  Sometimes she will take a long time to open up or she'll totally ignore the person.  Hahaha..

After our 1 hour lesson, we had lunch and we bumped into the Molly the Mobile Library.  We popped in for a quick look and its really nice.

National Day - School Celebrations

Mummy successfully found someone who has the National Day tattoos after asking around.. and these were last year's tattoos .. hahaha..She was very game about it and was very happy when her friends say "Kaelyn, you look so pretty"... hahaha..

Funny girl say she's a Kungfu girl... that explains the pose..
