Meet Parents Session

There's a meet-parents session conducted by the school. Teacher say Kaelyn is adapting very well and she's a very good student at school. She is always curious and exploring things around her.

However, we need to encourage her to speak up more. Whenever she wants something, she'll always point and make "mmm" sounds indicating what she wants. In the singing sessions, she is able to follow the movement but she won't sing the songs.

As compared, their peers will just say something even though most of the time teachers may not really understand what they say. But that is how they slowly pick up languages.

This area is where we need to work on ie. To give her more confidence and opportunities to speak up. A quick summary of what Kaelyn is doing at school:

Simple and Great Chill-Out!

We had a good time at the Buddy Hoagies Restaurant. The restaurant is located inside Nee Soon Community Centre. Hardly we get such decent restaurant at a CC. The place is quiet and relaxing and food was reasonably priced. You can choose the normal seats or tuck yourself comfortably on the sofas.

Kaelyn helped herself to the toys provided by the restaurant while Daddy and Mummy had our brunch and read newspapers. Daddy had fish baked rice and mummy had grilled salmon. We also shared a waffle with ice-cream.

Mmm...What a simple and great chill-out!

My Favourite Biscuit!

Kaelyn love this brand of biscuit. 姑姑 said she bought it from Cold Storage. Has been hunting for it but not been successful.

Look at Kaelyn.. we've finished the pack of biscuit and she's still asking for it. Daddy pour out all the biscuit crumbs and she went licking her palm... 真是好到吮手掌。。

Cousins Gathering

Cousin San Ping has invited us to a gathering to introduce her bride to all the relatives at Li Li's condo at The Anchorage opposite Ikea. It was a nice gathering as it has been a long time since we last see one another. Having worked in China for so many years, San Ping said he has lost touch of who is whose kid so we need to have a numbering system eg. I'm 三姨's 3rd child and Kaelyn is my 1st child so Kaelyn shall be coded 03-03-01. Hahaha..

Our parents are all busy catching with each other and we the 2nd generation are also busy talking about children and work. Here are some nice pix of our 3rd generation:

Happy Birthday to 外婆

We briefly celebrated 外婆's birthday when everyone reports at her house on Sun. Kaelyn like us to pretend play the process of singing the birthday song, blowing candles and cutting cake. So when we actually celebrated 外婆's birthday, she was quite excited. Whilst everyone was singing and clapping away, she spotted 伟伟哥哥 didn't clap his hands. Immediately she pointed at him and blurted at him... just like a teacher scolding his student. Quickly 伟伟哥哥 started to clap. Everybody laugh..So funny!!

We brought 外婆 for dinner on her actual day on Tues. Treated her to her favourite dish - Shark's Fin. Thereafter, we had 豆浆油条 at Geylang. For a weekday, Geylang is as bustling as weekend.. hahaha...

Wish 外婆 happy 62 years old! I wish you 2H - Healthy & Happy!

Amazing... "Doctor" Ng's Treatment!

Kaelyn was a little ill since Thurs.. vomitted twice and a slight fever. Doctor Chua suspect it is due to the pneumococcal vaccine on 30 June. After the medicine, she was quite ok except poor appetite. Until Sunday, her appetite remain bad and she was also very cranky.

After running her fingers through her tummy, experience tells 外婆 that Kaelyn's tummy seems a little bloated. Here's 外婆 aka 黄医师's treatment:

1. Pound some small onions (without washing them).
2. Fry the onions (no oil, nothing) until a little hot.
3. Wrap the hot onions with a cloth/hanky.
4. Gently dab on her back and tummy, working downwards, avoiding the belly button.

After the treatment, almost instantly, Kaelyn asked Daddy for bread and she ate almost 2/3 of it! Amazing!! 黄医师。。。 赞！！

Vittles Restaurant & Ikea Trip

After watching food recommendation show on TV, we went to try out the Vittles at Sembawang Cottage. Food was not bad and price is quite reasonable too. I think Daddy enjoyed the free popcorns most.

Ikea is on sale so we brought Kaelyn to Ikea again. Wanting to buy a table and chair for her to do some writing and drawing. Only managed to get 2 chairs for her so was a bit disappointed.

At our wits end, we opened our door for you... reluctantly.

Despite our hostility, you never fail to provide timely comfort and security.

At times when events turn ugly and drives us to the wall, you boldly confronted the nasty moments and made it right.

I salute you for helping us eliminate noise pollution and make her hit the sack speedily...you did it so effortlessly!

Without you, we'll meet more frustrations and feel more vexation.

Thank you for being such a great friend and companion for the past 21 months.
